What's new in Hush

Every release, in plain English. Hush updates itself in the background, so you always have the latest without doing anything.

0.54June 24, 2026

Redesigned menu-bar dropdown

New
  • Click the menu-bar icon for a full glance dashboard: CPU, memory, and GPU gauges, a swipeable history graph, your top apps right now, and a temperature and network strip.
  • Tap any gauge to jump straight to that part of the app.
  • Choose exactly what shows in Settings → Menu bar.
0.52June 23, 2026

Cleaner sidebar, smarter battery estimate

Improved
  • The sidebar is now organized into four clear groups: Optimize, Control, Monitor, and System.
  • The daily savings card now estimates extra battery life from real measurements, not a guess.
Fixed
  • Clicking the Dock icon reliably brings the window back.
0.46June 22, 2026

See exactly what Hush will never touch

New
  • Protected pane: a plain view of everything Hush will never slow, pause, or quit — your own list plus the always-protected categories, like calls, media, and AI sessions.
  • Click any app for its live CPU, memory, disk, and network detail in one place.
Improved
  • Plainer language throughout, so a number always says whether it's fine or worth a look.
  • Savings are capped to what your Mac can physically do, so the figures are always believable.
Fixed
  • Smart Hush strength now takes effect immediately.
  • Apps no longer flicker between eased and restored.
0.43–0.45June 21, 2026

Free up memory with one click

New
  • Memory pane: see exactly which apps are holding the most RAM, then free it with one click. Hush shows the measured before-and-after, never a guess.
  • Pause (reversible) or quit any app directly from the list.
  • Choose how hard automatic RAM relief works: Off, Balanced, or Aggressive.
Improved
  • Automatic RAM relief only ever touches idle apps, never your AI sessions, calls, or the app you're using.
0.41–0.42June 21, 2026

Your daily savings, and thermal tracking

New
  • "What Hush did for you today": apps eased, background CPU freed, memory relieved, and an estimated time saved, right on the Overview.
  • Thermal pressure tracking: a live indicator of whether your Mac has been running comfortably or under load.
  • Activity history now has Today, Week, Month, Year, and All-time views.
0.37–0.40June 21, 2026

Temperature monitoring

New
  • Live CPU and battery temperature, with a Fahrenheit/Celsius switch (opt-in, in Settings → Advanced).
  • Bluetooth accessory battery levels — Magic Mouse, Keyboard, Trackpad — in the Battery pane.
Improved
  • Sensors are read with no admin password, ever.
0.32–0.36June 21, 2026

Efficiency vs. performance cores, per-app disk & network

New
  • See efficiency-core vs. performance-core load separately, so you can watch eased apps move off your fast cores.
  • Per-app disk and network activity: see exactly what's reading, writing, downloading, or uploading right now.
  • More menu-bar customization: add network throughput, change font weight and color.
0.29–0.31June 21, 2026

Set exactly how hard Hush treats each app

New
  • Per-app control: Never, Smart, Eased, or Paused — set individually for any app.
  • Right-click any app on the Overview to ease it back, protect it, or quit it on the spot.
Improved
  • More accurate CPU percentage, matching Activity Monitor.
0.24–0.28June 20–21, 2026

Battery saver and the full monitoring wave

New
  • Battery saver: automatically eases harder on battery power, reverts the moment you're on AC.
  • GPU utilization, live network throughput, and a full Battery pane (charge, health, cycles, temperature, power draw).
  • Composable menu bar: choose exactly which readouts appear and in what order.
Improved
  • Processes no longer reorder while you're looking at them.
  • The menu bar renders correctly in both light and dark mode.
0.19–0.23June 20, 2026

Activity history and smart suggestions

New
  • Activity pane: proof Hush is working, with a daily summary and a timeline of every action taken.
  • "Hush noticed" smart suggestions: when a background app quietly hogs a full core, Hush offers to always ease it, one click.
  • History sparklines showing CPU and memory trends over the last few minutes.
  • The Disk pane shows what's synced locally versus safely online-only in your cloud storage.
0.18June 20, 2026

The redesigned app arrives

New
  • A completely redesigned app: left-rail navigation, dark, light, and system themes, and a new Overview with switchable Rings, Bars, and Numbers views.
  • A live "Hushing" bar showing everything currently eased back.
  • Manual per-app control — Be gentle, Restore, Quit — and a Protected toggle.
0.10–0.17June 18–20, 2026

Smart Hush, automatic RAM relief, and the Disk pane arrive

New
  • Smart Hush: an always-on controller that eases background hogs automatically under pressure and lets go the moment it passes, never touching the app you're using.
  • Automatic, reversible RAM relief under memory pressure.
  • Disk pane: see where space goes and safely reclaim it — Trash, Xcode caches, simulator junk, and more.
  • Startup items: see everything that launches at login, with one click to System Settings.
  • Launch at login.
0.1–0.9June 17, 2026

First release: a live CPU & memory monitor

New
  • The first version of Hush: live CPU and memory monitoring with source attribution — see exactly which app, or which Claude session, is responsible for a spike.
  • One-click "Be gentle," plus memory cleanup with per-app detail.
  • Light, dark, and system themes, a customizable menu bar, and a full Help center.

Hush checks for updates on launch and every six hours, and installs them quietly in the background — there is nothing to click. Questions about a release: hello@epiphani.studio.
